Starting something new is always a little scary, especially for me when it is technology related! I was born well before the advent of computers…..say no more! This said, I am on a mission to share my knowledge and wisdom so I’ve joined Substack.
I am creative, curious and passionate about health and wellbeing and much of what I write about is needed now, more than ever. With our world in chaos, fear has become the driving force for many of us. It need not be this way and that’s why I want to share advice and practices that can help us all live in a happier and healthier way. I have written many published articles, yet there is so much more in my head that I know can help others on their journey to health and happiness.
I am a respected health and wellbeing commentator writing in publications in the UK, Ireland, Asia, Australia and the US for over 25 years, while living in Asia (for 20 years) and more recently home in Ireland. I am the author of nine lifestyle books, the most recent being the skin-centric GLOW which was also published in the US (The Ultimate Four-Week Skincare Plan). Other titles include: Your Middle Years, SLOW Life and Balancing Senses, Spa Style Arabia, Spa Chic, Spa Style Asia Pacific, Eco Chic and Qi: Chinese Secret of Health, Beauty & Vitality.
I am an honours science graduate and a qualified dietitian with a diploma in cosmetic science and through the years have weaved my qualifications and experience to help others along their unique journey to health, wellbeing and joy. I have been practising yoga for close to 30 years and am a Yoga Alliance-certified teacher.
Aside from my professional qualifications and expertise, I am a mother to three adolescent and young-adult children and have witnessed firsthand how the past few years have impacted my own family’s wellbeing. I have learnt a lot. I know there is a better way.
If you are reading this, I’m not about to promise daily offerings, as that mission just would not be fulfilled! Please bear with me as I endeavour to post something new every week or so that hopefully will resonate. That said, it wont be the latest trend or the next weight loss, skincare or anti-ageing (I hate that word!) miracle - it will be advice and tools, many of which have stood the test of time (for every good reason) that offer lasting sustainable solutions to myriad issues we are living with now.
